What MS Can’t do!

What MS Can’t do!

There always seems to be something going on, doesn’t there?  A little stumble here, a bit of fatigue there!  Tingling, ‘hugs’, pins-and-needles.  Headaches, vertigo, dead-leg.  Many of us have daily confrontations with the effects of MS on our lives and on our bodies.  However, every now and again, the storm calms for the briefest moment, my immune-system declares a temporary cease-fire on my nervous system, and I am offered a physical and mental respite.  These are the times I like to sit back, take a long, slurpy sip of a delicious cup of coffee and laugh in the face of MS (not too loudly, mind!  We’re not complete rebels here! ?)  As intrusive as MS is, it cannot have all of me and, in the stillness, I  am reminded that I am still the same person I’ve always been;  I still love the same way, I still have that same crazy sense of humour (my words) and NOTHING comes between me and my favourite cup of caramel-flavoured latte ☕

So, in spite of everything, I’d like to take a moment to reflect on (and appreciate!) a couple of other things that MS can’t do or that I won’t allow MS to do!

It CANNOT cripple love
It CANNOT shatter hope
It CANNOT kill friendship
It CANNOT eat away peace
It CANNOT silence courage
It CANNOT corrode faith
It CANNOT shut out memories
It CANNOT quench the spirit!

MS is so limited! Take back your life!
