The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame
The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame
I chose this old classic as, shamefully, I’ve never read it before and because it happened to fall under the category of ‘A Book with Pictures‘ from the 26 Books Challenge plus I have had this book in my arsenal for the longest time…it needed to be dusted off and loved?
Alas, I will be passing it on to be loved by others. This is a slow simmer book as we wile away the time with Mole, Ratty and Badger. It’s not until the introduction of the incorrigible, self-promoting Toad that the story really kicks into gear with real fun and adventure.
Written in 1908, it is hard to imagine Kenneth’s world in relation to now, especially when told by talking animals but there are a few moral values that we can still identify with today: good friendships, common decency and helping each other in times of difficulty.
I give this book THREE COFFEE CUPS ☕☕☕
