My Monthly Reads – February 2017

(*gasp*)

(*hangs head in shame*)

Only one book read this month.  ONE!! ?  Okay, Folks, let’s not panic here…let’s assess the month with a cool head.  Oh, that’s right:  it’s a short month?

Whilst everyone around me seems to be taking another stab at George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four (also on my reading list!) I stumbled across an absolute gem of a book, The Sellout, by Paul Beatty.  A savagely clever satire that is definitely not for the ‘easily offended’!

In my Monthly Reads roundup for January I did promise to tell you about a book that I’ve tried to read a few times but haven’t been able to get past the first couple of pages.  Due to a disastrously slow reading month, I didn’t actually get round to picking it up but it’s at the top of my list for March.

I have also signed up for a writing course next month (YAY me!) and there’s a set book that I have to read in preparation for that.  Hopefully, I’ll manage to get through the two books this coming month…

It’s not much of a round-up but, as always, the awarded COFFEE CUPS are as follows:

  1. ☕☕☕☕ The Sellout by Paul Beatty
