Classic Gingerbread Latte

Nothing says Christmas quite like gingerbread, nutmeg and cinnamon.  The Classic Gingerbread Latte is definitely a bit of a shake-up of the more traditional spicy hot chocolate but, for all you coffee-lovers out there, this is the perfect alternative.


I used ‘Black and Beyond Espresso – Dark and Intense‘ to make the shot – totally delicious coffee, by the way!


2 oz shot of espresso

1/2 cup of steamed milk

1 tbs molasses

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 tsp freshly ground ginger

pinch nutmeg


1. In your favourite Christmas cup, mix the shot of espresso with the molasses, vanilla extract and ground ginger (ground ginger works just as well).

2. Gently pour in your steamed milk.

3. Sprinkle the pinch of nutmeg as a garnish or add a cinnamon stick







The great thing about this recipe is you don’t need any fancy equipment to steam the milk.  There are a number of different ways in which the same frothy results can be achieved:
