A is for Alibi by Sue Grafton
Serialised crime stories are not really my cup of tea but, every now and again, I do like to deviate slightly and read some easy chick-lit…this book definitely did the biz for me? I first read this book as a young student taking the feminist elective as part of my literature course…I know, I know…very progressive??? I came across it whilst clearing boxes of books from the shed.
Kinsey Milhone is a Santa Teresa private investigator hired by convicted killer, Nikki Fife, to find out who really killed her husband eight years earlier. When dead bodies start popping up despite the passage of time, Kinsey knows that the evidence and the past she is dredging up has got someone spooked.
This is another book I would recommend for a beach-read…it’s light, it’s thin and it’s an incredibly easy read…all the right ingredients. It’s not the best book I’ve picked up this year but it is, by far, not the worst either.
I give this book THREE COFFEE CUPS ☕☕☕
